job shadow narrative
On October 13,2016, I took a visit to one of my good friends Anthony Gonzalez at Mcdermont Field House, here in lindsay, to job shadow him for my senior exit interview. I chose to job shadow Anthony because i'm interested in becoming a personal trainer one day; i got to see what it was like to wake up at 5 in the morning and begin to train people, he even let me train a few people as i was there giving me hands on experience.
As I got there he greeted me and explained to me how he does his training he told me he has 3 different classes in the morning the first one was from 5 to 6:30 then his next one started at 7 til 8:30 then he gets an hour break so during the time i got to ask him any questions i had throughout the time i was there. Then at 10 he had another class that ended at 11. After his final class a local school visited Mcdermott and Anthony talked to all the students about how important fitness was and he talked a lot about nutrition. I even learned many stuff i didn't know.
Most of the time I was there I was just observing how he ran his classes. I noticed he had a great relationship with his clients and was always making them laugh while still getting them a good workout. I felt like if he had a good relationship with each of his clients which i believe was the first step to becoming a good personal trainer.
When i got there I knew id take in a lot of new information and find out whether i’d like to continue to want to be a personal trainer or not. Overall i liked the experience it would be something i'd like to do. I'd love to help people and see them grow not only physically also mentally.
